REGION

Situated in the northwest of Portugal particularly in Minho, the Demarcated Region of Vinho Verde, occupies a cultivated area of approximately 21.000Ha and is spread over all the northwester Portugal in the zone known as Douro and Minho.
lt has been recognized in 1908 as a demarcated region, being one of the oldest wine regions in Portugal.
The vinho verde is characterized by a very specific set of factors that define and grade its uniqueness. The “needle” and the “acidity” in white wines and the “adstringency” in the red wines give the vinho verde the unique characteristics of this very special wine.
Throughout several generations the evolution in the technique was beneficial, and nowadays there are high quality and internationally acclaimed wines.
